With gas prices currentlyhigh, save money and take a virtual trip “Hither and Yon” with paintings by local artist Betsee Talavera.  Visit the places she has been, the things she has seen. Follow the country roads of northern Santa Barbara County or rural Oregon’s Willamette Valley. Tour the coast of either state on a foggy day.  Watch the setting sun cast its glow on field and farm, fir tree and barn.  Feel the cool shadows and the warm sun. See the view from high terrain to valley floor. There’s a bit of something for every traveler.

Ms. Talavera’s current show as featured artist at the Cypress Gallery in Lompoc runs from May 1 throughMay 27. Viewing hours for this colorful adventure are Tuesdays to Sundays 12:00 noon to 5:00 PM at 119 East Cypress Avenue just south of Ocean Avenue. The public is invited to a reception with the artist and friends on Saturday May 5 from 2:00 to 4:00.
