Founded in 1994 by the Lompoc Valley Art Association, the Cypress Gallery showcases the art of over 60 well known local artists. Art lovers will find a variety of fine art in the Gallery: watercolors, oils, acrylics, pastels, mixed media, photography, ceramics, jewelry, souvenirs, and great gift ideas. Prices are very reasonable and one of the artists is always available to assist you.

Each month brings a new exhibit to the Cypress Gallery, often with a new "Featured Artist" show in the South room. Preview this month's gallery show below or browse a directory of some of our Cypress Gallery artists on our Artist Directory page. Our artists also have rotating shows at the Lompoc Hospital and in several locations around town. To visit these locations, please check out the Traveling Art Show schedule.

"Color on Canvas and Gourds"

30 June - 26 July 2009
Reception on Saturday July 18th, 2-4PM

Orange TreeKnown to some as GourdDiva, Lisa enjoys painting on both canvas and gourd. Using mostly acrylics, Lisa usually pulls her images from her imagination. "I usually have no fixed idea what the outcome will be." she says, "Only an idea about a color combination or the need to put paint on something.

Gourds have been Lisa’s focus for about 12 years. When the need to create a catchy email name arose, GourdDiva seemed a natural and it has stuck. She uses blue & gold vasegourds to create decorative vessels, ornaments, figurines and more.

After a long hiatus from canvas painting, Lisa returned after moving to Lompoc in 2005. Finding kindred souls, the Lompoc Valley Art Association, and much inspiration, canvas work now shares about an equal amount of time with the gourd work.
