May Featured Show

 "Welcome To My World Photography,"
the photographs of James McIntire

April 30-May 26, 2013

Reception: Saturday May 4, 1-3pm

Guardians of the West
"Guardians of the West," by James McIntire

The photographer will display a variety of works from a series he calls "This Land is Your Land, Too," inspired by the title of a Woody Guthrie song.  These photos will range from peaceful landscapes and seascapes to the somewhat whimsical, found just around the corner.

"I took my first cross-country trip in 1976, traveling from my native land, in the State of Maine, to a new home in California. This exposed me to the majestic beauty of the mountains and deserts of the West."

Mr. McIntire's longtime interest in photography has taken on a new dimension since he began to share his work publically in 2012.  He's had photos juried and exhibited at the "C" Gallery in Los Alamos, CA and received Honorable Mention for his photo "Bucksport in the Morning" at the Cypress Gallery's Fall Show.

His work can be seen at the Cypress Gallery, 119 E. Cypress Ave., which is open 12-5 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday. For more information call the Cypress Gallery at 805-737-1129.
